This project started in 1988 with an idea from our Past Director, PDG Bernie Stuttgen from Thorp.  It started small, but now we have many areas around the state collecting deer hides for Camp. Hunters can make a tremendous impact for us by donating their deer hide and tail at one of the hundreds of drop-off sites around the state. The tails and hides are then sent off to a buyer who turns the tails into fly fishing lures and the hides into gloves. The proceeds from the hides and glove sales go to support Wisconsin Lions Camp, which provides quality camp experiences for Wisconsin youth and adults with disabilities free of charge. Click here to see the impact that Wisconsin Lions Camp has on our campers and staff.

If you have any questions about our deer hide collection, please e-mail bbehrens@wlf.info or call the Wisconsin Lions Foundation at 715-677-4969.

Collection Site Managers: Go to the Resources page for posters, materials order form, and deer hide preparation information.

Please note, the deer hide collection sites are opening at various times throughout the hunting season. If a date is listed, that date has been verified as the anticipated open date of the site. If no date is listed, we are pending verification of when the site is opening. Some sites without a date may already be open. If unsure about a site, we recommend reaching out to the contact information for the site to confirm the site status.
